Branch Manager

Branch Manager (Full Time), 1 Position

Exeter & Mackenzie Glass Centre

Cornwall Glass & Glazing Ltd has been established for over 35 years and has built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units. Exeter and Mackenzie Glass Centres make up two of the 15 branches throughout the Southwest of England.

We are seeking a Branch Manager who will evolve to become General Manager, responsible for production processes within the branch, customer services including glazing and distribution along with branch sales.

You need to inspire with the proven ability to increase productivity to ensure commercial success.

• Annual branch sales of circa. £3m;

• Develop and execute a branch specific sales plan, being responsible for both internal and external customers;

• Ensure all branch activities are carried out in a safe manner and comply with Cornwall Glass & Glazing Limited’s policies, procedures and standards;

• Maintain the necessary production standards for an efficient and effective ‘Distribution Hub’ and incrementally improve over time;

• Manage, up-skill, grow and develop the branch team appropriately to create a flexible, skilled, customer-focused and productive workforce who can meet customer and business demands effectively;

• Build a customer centric culture within the team to improve customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention;

• Proactively manage branch communication consistently to ensure all employees are kept appropriately informed and have the opportunity to feed into future branch developments;

• Manage the end-to-end operational functions (enquiry - order - factory - transport - invoice);

• Manage the branch overheads accordingly in terms of maximising site profit;

• Ability to persevere and remain positive at all times even when faced with service issues;

• Effective within a team environment with the ability to achieve through others;

• Excellent leadership and people management skills;

• The ability to implement efficient processes and practices and ensure these are instilled and followed are essential traits for the successful individual;

• Continuous monitoring, problem solving and improvement of the production facility.

This role would suit a Business Unit Manager or Branch Manager looking to lead a branch, grow a team and drive sales.

THE PERSON

A keen inspired individual with experience previously within a Business Unit Manager or Branch Manager type role. Key qualities to potentially include;

Logistics, Warehouse, Operations, NEBOSH, IOSH, Management, Building, Construction, Branch Manager.

Glass Operative Apprentice

2 Position: Exeter

Cornwall Glass & Glazing Ltd which has been established for over 35 years and has built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest and in the local area. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units.

We are looking for 2 full-time, Glass Operative Apprentices to work 40 hours a week.

Full training will be given to the successful applicant.

Within the branch there are a variety of glass processing tasks you will be expected to undertake (with training) which include:

 

  • Cutting
  • Drilling
  • Polishing
  • Some Lead work
  • Dispatch

 

 

 

Training & Education

There will be thorough on-the-job-training. In your early days with experienced glass operatives. Once the Glass Operative and you feel confident you will then begin to be very hands on.

You will be expected to complete either:

1.  NVQ Level 2 – Glass Processing then progress to Level 3

Business Administration Apprentice

1 Position: Exeter

Cornwall Glass & Glazing Ltd which has been established for over 35 years and has built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest and in the local area. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units.

We are looking for a full-time, Business Administration Apprentice to work 40 hours a week.

Full training will be given to the successful applicant but you must have:

• A minimum of 4 GCSE’s – of which, one must be Maths and the other English

• Willing to learn

• Have an eye for detail

• Ability to problem solve

• A desire to make a difference

This key role within our existing team will look to engage with both domestic and commercial customers .

The role includes:

  • Serving customers
  • Entering orders on our IT systems
  • Dealing with branch enquiries

You need to have the potential to be able to show both leadership and the ability to work as part of a team.

You will need to show integrity, ambition, desire, and pride in your work and carry out your role with care and great communication skills at all levels.

Glazing Apprentice

2 Positions: Exeter

The aim of this apprenticeship is that you will become a confident skilled Glazier and achieve a relevant NVQ (2/3) and Technical Certificate along with Key Skills and practical experience.

Residential glazing work usually involves installation of various types of glass or mirrors for both the interior and exterior. Most interior work consists of installation of mirrors, shower glass doors and sometimes glass balustrade. Glass balustrade can be both inside and outside work. The mirror and glass materials are often measured, cut and ready to be glazed or put in place before going to the customer’s house.

There will also be the need to carry out some basic administration.

Training & Education

There will be thorough on-the-job-training. In your early days with experienced glaziers/glass operatives. Once both the glazier/glass operative and you feel confident you will then begin to be very hands on.

You will be expected to complete:

1. NVQ Level 2 leading to a Level 3 in Glazing
